Satellite poker tournaments are great because they give people with small bankrolls a shot at the big-time tournaments. One could win a seat at a tournament thousands just for winning a low-priced satellite tournament.

In a satellite tournaments, one first needs to analyze how many people will get a prize. If 10 out of 200 people will get a prize package, you have a better chance to maneuver and execute a good strategy. However, if there is only one winner, you will have to play very aggressive right from the beginning.

The prize structure should always determine your play. So for the single prize satellite, you need to play really aggressive in order to stack your chips in the beginning.
